Important Fitment Details:

• Fits center link steering equipped trucks only.
• Will NOT fit trucks equipped with a steering rack.
• KRTR12-FT is designed specifically for lift spindle applications that require larger diameter tie rod tapers.
• Will NOT fit lift kits that retain factory outer tie rod tapers.

• Due to the increased size of the tie rod bodies, modification of the factory sway bar end links may be required on some applications. Replacement end links are available separately.

The Kryptonite Death Grip Tie Rod System is the ultimate steering upgrade for 1999-2006 GM 1500 trucks and SUVs equipped with factory center link steering. Engineered to withstand oversized tires, aggressive off-road use, and the abuse of lifted trucks, these tie rods deliver dramatically improved strength, steering precision, and long-term durability over factory components.

Unlike the factory two-piece tie rod assembly, Kryptonite utilizes a heavy-duty three-piece modular design consisting of a short inner rod end, oversized 1¼-inch solid steel hex tie rod body, and a short outer rod end. By reducing unsupported stud length, this design greatly increases bending strength while allowing individual wear components to be serviced or replaced without replacing the entire assembly.

Every tie rod features Kryptonite’s proven Death Grip metal-on-metal ball socket design with heat-treated chromoly outer studs for exceptional durability under the harshest conditions. Left- and right-hand threaded adjusters allow quick toe adjustments directly on the vehicle, while the oversized hex body provides superior strength and easy wrench access.

In independent laboratory testing, factory tie rods separated at approximately 9,000 lbs of pulling force, while competing oversized aftermarket tie rods failed around 17,000 lbs. Kryptonite Death Grip Tie Rods withstood an incredible 21,000 lbs before failure, setting the benchmark for strength in the GM half-ton market.
