The Kryptonite Death Grip Center Link & Tie Rod System is the ultimate steering upgrade for 1999-2006 GM 1500 trucks and SUVs. Originally developed for the legendary 2001-2010 GM HD platform, this proven steering architecture is now available for GMT800 half-ton trucks, bringing the same uncompromising strength and performance to a new application.
At the heart of the system is Kryptonite’s H1-inspired steering geometry. Rather than relying on the factory curved center link with straight inner tie rods, Kryptonite engineered this system around the steering layout used on the military H1 Hummer. The redesigned center link works with dual 90-degree inner rod ends, placing steering loads in a more favorable direction and dramatically increasing the system’s ability to withstand the extreme axial loads generated by oversized tires, lifted suspensions, aggressive off-road driving, and high-horsepower applications.
Unlike many aftermarket straight center link systems that sacrifice turning radius or alter steering geometry, the Kryptonite system was engineered to maintain factory alignment specifications, steering geometry, and full factory turning radius. The oversized center link is manufactured from high-strength 1144 high carbon steel and paired with Kryptonite Death Grip three-piece tie rods.
